HAT-tagged lighting designs to know now

With so many beautiful and innovative products at market, it’s hard to narrow down our favorites, but these pieces shown at in Dallas last week caught our attention and received a HAT tag. Here’s why.

Arabela Callista pendant _HAT tag
Calista by Arabela

The inverted teardrop shape of Arabela’s Callista pendant make its gold leaf petals and clusters of glass beads look lit from within.

Why we like it: Arabela is a brand-new lighting company run by veteran lighting executives; its design expertise was evident in its industry debut.

The Titan floor lamp by Koncept
Koncept’s Director of Sales Doug Benway  with the Titan floor lamp; its rotatable LED head and base allow for precise light positioning.

The Titan floor lamp by Koncept has an extendable arm that remains straight and parallel to the floor in every position and has an LED light that can be positioned to provide either up or down light.

Why we like it: It’s already a Red Dot, iF Design and Best of NeoCon winner, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a simple design backed by impressive engineering.

David Trubridge HUSH pendants
David Trubridge’s HUSH pendants

HUSH acoustic pendants, designed by PLN Group in with New Zealand designer David Trubridge and distributed by wakaNINE, are made from recycled water bottles to absorb sound.

Why we like it: An eye-catching pendant does double-duty by absorbing sound; originally designed for commercial applications, it also works in home offices — and anywhere in the home — to make life a little more peaceful.

Eurofase's Vellura lighting_heater
The Vellura dual-purpose lighting/heater from Eurofase

Eurofase’s Vellura dual-purpose heating and lighting lamp is available as a floor lamp, table lamp or pendant. It has a carbon heating element, integrated LED and an outdoor shade (available in several colors).

Why we like it: Vellura is a stylish replacement for outdoor, propane-fueled heat . It’s wet-rated, dimmable, touch controlled and has variable heat output and safety sensors that automatically shut the heater off if it is accidentally tipped. We love the innovation (patent pending) and the application.
