Mor Furniture announced that CEO Richard “Rick” Haux Jr. has retired from the company after a 44-year career. Under Haux’s leadership, solidified its position as the largest family-owned and operated furniture retailer on the West Coast, expanding to more than 40 stores across seven states.

His leadership earned widespread recognition, including the 2014 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (San Diego region, Family Business category) and a spot in the San Diego Business Journal’s Book of Influential Leaders in 2018.

During his tenure, Haux was instrumental in expanding the company’s retail footprint, notably leading its successful acquisition by supplier, Healthcare Co. Ltd. in 2020.
