Stark acquires luxury rug atelier Fort Street Studio

NEW YORK – Carpet and rug company Stark has acquired , an atelier founded by artists and , which is known for pioneering painterly, hand-knotted silk rugs that blur the line between fine art and design. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

Stark said the strategic acquisition reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting boutique brands defined by artistic integrity and custom craftsmanship. Fort Street Studio will continue to operate as a distinct brand within the Stark portfolio, maintaining its creative independence.

The full Fort Street Studio team, including Paul Melo, creative and sales director, will remain in place to ensure creative continuity, client relationships, and the preservation of the brand’s unique identity and direction.

Provisor and Davis established Fort Street Studio in the 1990s to pursue innovation in texture, technique and tone.
