Wayfair rolls out fee-based rewards program

BOSTON — Wayfair is launching a new subscription-based program, Wayfair Rewards, across its portfolio of retail brands.

Wayfair Rewards will cost $29 per year for subscribers who, in turn, receive 5% back in rewards on purchases at Wayfair, AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main and Perigold. The rewards don’t expire as long as customers stay current with their subscription membership.

Also included for subscribers are exclusive member-only sales; early access to major sales events such as Way Day; free shipping on items, regardless of order size; priority customer service via a dedicated phone line; and other offers and perks, including a birthday offer. Some restrictions apply on rewards and shipping.

Wayfair’s previous rewards program was inactivated in 2020. This program replaces the existing credit card rewards program, with current cardholders automatically enrolled in the new program at no cost. Cardholders have the opportunity to earn 7% rewards when they use their cards from the Wayfair family of brands.

“We designed Wayfair Rewards to deliver extraordinary value to our customers with meaningful perks that can be felt immediately,” said Jon Blotner, chief commercial officer. “Whether you’re embarking on a remodel or just looking for a new throw pillow or kitchen gadget, our diverse catalog with our new rewards program ensures members get exceptional savings every time you shop.”

According to the company, having a fee-based program delivers greater value and a more personalized service. It also allows the company to invest in features that enhance the overall shopping experience.
