The Pavona chandelier from Modern Forms, left, is a scaled down version of a custom piece. The Eden pendant, right, is the newest piece of optic crystal designed to look like a piece of jewelry. The LED light source is in the canopy. It is by sister company Schonbek. Both brands are part of WAC Lighting.

WAC Lighting will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025 with a major showroom renovation and an event planned for Lightovation in January.

The company’s product launch will pair the best-performing technology, such as advanced tunable whites, with design-driven products, it said.

“We are embracing evolving technology that transforms spaces into experiences that make us feel welcome, inspired and connected to our environment,” said President Becky Li. “We will introduce smart products and cool designs.”

As part of the celebration, WAC Lighting is enhancing its presence in the Dallas Trade Mart with updates and expansions across its WAC, Modern Forms and Schonbek showroom spaces.

Lightovation will take place Jan. 8-11.

Lamps Plus will pay $4.1 million to settle a lawsuit alleging the company engaged in false advertising and unfair competition, our sister publication Furniture Today reported.

The lighting and furniture retailer unlawfully advertised price protection policies, including a price match and a 120% price match guarantee, without disclosing that such policies did not include Lamps Plus own-brand products, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Lamps Plus also used “compare at” and “comparable value” sales tags to indicate a bargain price, even when the product sold was an own-brand product with no competitor in the market or when the comparable product was not of similar design and quality. Also, a “strike through” advertised reference price on sales tags was allegedly used to indicate a bargain price when the advertised former price was not an actual former price, Furniture Today reported, citing the DA’s office.

Casarialto, an Italian company that translates its passion for glass into tableware and other furnishings, has launched Trilli, its first collection of cordless and rechargeable lamps. What makes these lamps unique is that they are hand-blown clear glass spheres with different decorative elements affixed to the top. The lamps, which are equipped with a battery that lasts five hours and can be recharged, are made in Italy.

Smart homes and holistic design will continue to be a popular trend in interior design in 2025. Kalco Lighting’s award-winning designer Takayuki Ishii says these new technologies in luxury lighting will help them elevate and personalize their living spaces:

App-Controlled Color Changing Technology

“This customizable technology allows homeowners to easily switch the color of their luxury lighting between red, blue, green and white colors.”

Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) Technology

“This advanced LED technology allows homeowners to effortlessly set the color temperature, from warm to cool tones, for their decorative lighting fixtures to suit their mood. Warm, cozy hues are ideal for a laid-back, relaxed space, such as a living room while cool colors are perfect for vibrant and energetic environments.” Ishii said color temperature preferences change by the region, noting that customers in the Midwest prefer warm tones while those in the South, such as Florida, gravitate toward cooler hues.

Advanced Fluorocarbon Finish Technology

Five years in the making, Kalco Lighting developed its own advanced flouorocarbon finish technology, which is a marine-grade UV-resistant and rust-proof powder coat that ensures its outdoor fixtures can withstand the harshest elements. Designed by Ishii and award-winning designer Grace Denniston, the contemporary outdoor Esterno Cristallo collection by Allegri Crystal features this finish in matte white or matte black.
