Currey, with new lighting partner, exhibits at Euroluce

MILAN – Currey & Company has partnered with a British lighting company and is exhibiting at Euroluce in Milan this week.

The company has partnered with UK-based Elstead Lighting Group, which manufactures and distributes decorative lighting. Currey will provide lighting designs to the interior design, hospitality and architectural industries through  Elstead’s luxury brand, Quintiesse, which has showrooms in the UK, Poland and soon, Dubai.

The partnership, which expands Currey’s reach in the U.K., Europe and the Middle East, will debut at this week at Euroluce, the international lighting show taking place in Milan, Italy. It will be in Hall 4, Stand C33.

The lighting will also be shown at shows this year in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Dubai, a spokesperson for Currey said.

Elstead Lighting is headed by Managing Director Jonathan Lucas, who is the son and nephew of the previous family owners. The company has a rich history and was originally known as The Elstead Forge, founded in 1686 where it produced mainly iron gates and general ironworks in the tiny hamlet of Elstead, Surrey, England.

“When the opportunity arose to partner with both the team and brand that Currey & Company has built, we could not have been more enthusiastic. The new collection epitomizes a brand where every product has been thought through with care and with detail,” Lucas said.

Currey President Brownlee Currey said, “It is a rare day when one meets a particular person with whom one has lived a parallel life, but in a different location. That’s exactly how I felt meeting Jonathan and Deborah and visiting their headquarters in Hampshire. I knew at that moment; we were in the right place to enter into business together.”

Currey was founded 37 years ago by Brownlee Currey’s parents, Robert and Suzy Currey. It is based in Atlanta and has showrooms in Atlanta, Dallas, Las Vegas and High Point, N.C.
