Glidden trades drama for calm with Artifact, its 2027 Color of the Year
Glidden is putting forward a warm, smoky blue called Artifact as its 2027 Color of the Year.
The hue (PPG10-16) has a calming energy “that pushes drama to the wayside, calling for simplicity,” the paint company said. It is a move away from cool grays as neutrals and toward emerging colors that are welcoming and timeless, it added.
“Not every home update needs to be dramatic to feel different,” said Glidden marketing manager Ashley McCollum. “Artifact is that perfect ‘hit reset’ color. Not a reinvention—just a fresh realignment. It’s confidence without the drama and calm without the snooze. It’s the color of reset, but without erasing your personality. It’s fresh, optimistic and lets people design a space that reflects who they actually are, and not who they’re expected to be.”
