Home brand ‘stretches creatively’ in collaboration with L.A. fashion designer
An assortment of furniture and accessories make up the Schoolhouse x Clare V. collection, which marks the first collaboration between the brands.
PORTLAND, Ore. — In its first collaboration, lighting and home furnishings brand Schoolhouse has joined with Los Angeles-based ready-to-wear and accessories design house Clare V. for a limited-edition collection of furniture and home goods.
The collection, sold online through Schoolhouse’s website, combines Clare V.’s chic, playful aesthetic with Schoolhouse’s craftmanship for a line of furniture, rugs and accent pieces featuring stripes, checks and animal prints.
“Partnering with Clare V. was a chance for both brands to stretch creatively and take some risks,” said Melissa Miller, general manager at Schoolhouse. “Their approach to style aligns with our commitment to creating products that are both distinct and enduring. This collection is all about bringing joy, color and personality into the home.”
“It was easy to collaborate with Schoolhouse because they have a similar vibe to Clare V. in that they’re making pieces for the home that are meant to be heirlooms, but they are not too precious,” explained Clare Vivier, founder and creative director. “There is also a sense of fun and color that resonates with Clare V.”
The Schoolhouse x Clare V. collection includes shag wool rugs, sofas, woven and velvet pillows, mirrors, high-gloss lamps and colorful catchalls.
Schoolhouse, which was founded in 2003, was acquired by Food52 in late 2021. In addition to its e-commerce business, Schoolhouse operates a showroom in Portland, Ore.
Clare V. has been in business since 2008 and is a globally recognized brand known for combining French style with Los Angeles ease.
