Lighting certification course offered in June + lighting debuts | Lighting Report

Dallas Market Center will host a brand-new certification course in lighting controls just before its Lightovation show in June.

The two-day course, offered by the National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors (NAILD), will be held June 16-17 with an exam on June 18.

The NAILD LS-C Certification Program is developed to bridge the knowledge gap in lighting controls within the distribution channel of the industry. To address this, the program provides structured training and formalized certification.

The program offers a choice of three certification tracks: LS-CD (Distribution), LS-CS (Specialist), or LS-CI (Installation). Participants will select one track for the June training and will have future opportunities to take other tracks.

The distribution training is recommended for individuals or companies interested in learning how to sell, stock and coordinate lighting controls.

The specialist training is for those who frequently encounter incomplete or unclear project documentation.

The installation track is for those who want to offer oversight and support services during and after installation.

The NAILD website has more information about these programs.

Early bird pricing for this certification training, which ends March 31, is $399 for NAILD members and $499 for non-members. Registration for this training also includes registration for the full June 18-21 Lightovation show, and participants will receive a guided tour of DMC’s permanent lighting marketplace following the certification exam on June 18.

Lostine, a marketplace and design studio, is debuting ceramic pendant lights and table lamps designed by NPage Studio. The collection, called Grove Street, sports organic forms and earthy tones with colorways named after the streets of the neighborhood street where Natalie Page grew up: Ebony, Chestnut and Dogwood. The lineup showcases NPage Studio’s slip-casting technique.

The New York chapter of the IFDA bestowed its Best in Show for Lighting Award at last month’s NY Now show to Continental Home. “Every piece in its collection is hand-crafted and 100% man-made, showcasing lamps, ceramic vessels, and accessories that boast museum-quality designs, elevating them to the status of true art pieces,” the IFDA said.
