Six concept vehicles from Stellantis exploring the future of car design

A Fiat that converts from a family car into a pickup and a Peugeot with a glass-bubble roof were among six concept cars unveiled by Stellantis at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, as captured in this video carousel by Dezeen.
Automotive corporation Stellantis unveiled the six concepts at a preview event in Meudon, outside Paris, on the eve of the motor show, offering an early look at the designs before the exhibition opened to the public.
The concepts explored different approaches to future car design – from reworking historic models to experimenting with colour-changing paint and illuminated bodywork.
Among the cars presented was Fiat's Multiplay, which combines the proportions of a family vehicle with the functionality of a pickup.
Measuring 4.45 metres long, the concept has a sliding rear section that converts its six-seat-plus-one configuration into a four-seat vehicle with an open cargo bed.

Inside, a front passenger seat called the Sunseat folds into a lounge-style position beneath the panoramic roof, while a modular Petsenger seat can accommodate a pet, a child seat or storage.
The concept was finished in bright green, with a pink floor and red and pink upholstery inspired by the colours of a watermelon.

Citroën revisited its 1948 2CV with a compact electric concept featuring an orange-red body, grey steel wheels and yellow accents.
Inside, yellow tartan upholstery echoes details of the original model, while a fabric sunroof and removable storage basket replaced some of the conventional fittings found in modern cars.
The concept also features a detachable radio called Radioën, which doubles as a portable speaker, as well as door compartments designed to hold eggs, echoing the practical requirements of the original car.

Peugeot presented its RCZ Vision concept, a low-slung coupe with a sculpted body and a glass roof with a distinctive double-bubble profile that extends from the bonnet towards the rear.
Slim horizontal headlights reinterpret the brand's three-claw motif, while a rear spoiler deploys only when the car is moving, keeping the bodywork smooth when parked.
Inside, a square steering control called Hypersquare replaces a conventional steering wheel and transparent micro-LED displays provide driving information while reducing the visual prominence of screens.

DS Automobiles' F3VER concept features a compact body finished in Cosmic Blue paint that changes from vivid blue to violet depending on the light.
Its two-tone finish wraps around the rear of the car, while vertical Y-shaped headlights frame the front emblem.
At the rear, 16 LED panels sit within a sculptural light assembly informed by the vaulted roof of Paris's Grand Palais.

Opel's STX Concept is an electric estate car with a low roofline, sharply creased bonnet and sloping rear. Its front grille, known as the Vizor, incorporates vertical animated lights around an illuminated Opel emblem.
The rear bumper features extendable aerodynamic elements, while glass light strips run from the rear side windows into the roof.
Cameras replace conventional wing mirrors and three-section alloy wheels are designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

Alfa Romeo's Cuorerosso concept car explores the brand's future sports-car design through a streamlined body, active air intakes and slim aerodynamic mirrors.
Its rear window echoes the shape of the brand's triangular front grille, while the interior is organised around the driver, with controls concealed in the central console until needed.
Stellantis was formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and France's PSA Group.
Its portfolio includes Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Opel and Peugeot, among other automotive brands.
