This week on Dezeen, designer Simon Weckert unveiled a colourful camouflage shirt that stops users being detected by AI video systems.
Named Digital Camouflage, the shirt was developed in response to a pilot project to use artificial intelligence (AI) video surveillance at Berlin's Kottbusser Tor, which starts this month.
According to Weckert, the anti-AI shirt uses a combination of bright colours and patterns to confuse the AI-powered system by subverting what the system recognises as a person.
Also this week, developer Riksbyggen and creative agency BBDO Nordics unveiled three tiny apartments based on what a 25-year-old can afford to buy in Sweden today.
The apartment sizes were based on income data from three Swedish cities, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Umeå, and range from 1.9 square metres for Stockholm to 4.5 square metres for Umeå.
"We wanted to show exactly how much home an average 25-year-old can afford today, and let people experience that reality," BBDO Nordics art director Anton Bolin told Dezeen.
In other architecture news, the administration of US president Donald Trump said it may have to demolish the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, as a result of an ongoing battle over its renovation.
A civil action filed this week by a Justice Department attorney stated that the administration may seek to demolish the Edward Durell Stone-designed building, which it argues is in a "financial and structural death spiral", and replace it with an amphitheatre.
Meanwhile, in New York, construction has begun for a skycraper jail designed by architecture studio HOK in the city's Chinatown.
The Manhattan Detention Facility is one of the four new borough-based structures designed to replace the city's notorious Rikers Island jail complex. It will be located on the same site as the former Manhattan Detention Complex (The Tombs), which was demolished in 2024.
Among our most popular projects this week were a sunken home built from stone on the Greek island of Sifnos, a grass-topped office in the Netherlands wrapped in bark cladding and an open-air temple and granite farmhouse on a hillside in Kerala.
