Two lighting nonprofits agree to collaborate
Two nonprofit lighting groups have formalized a collaboration agreement to share expertise and resources between them, in an effort to increase awareness of lighting programs and educational opportunities in the industry.
The National Lighting Bureau (NLB) and the InterNational Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO) have entered into a memorandum of understanding to share knowledge, experience, data and best practices while exploring opportunities in lighting education, research and public outreach, the two companies said in a release earlier this week.
The agreement also provides a framework through which the organizations may develop specific joint initiatives.
“This memorandum creates a strong foundation for future cooperation between the NLB and NALMCO,” said Mary Beth Gotti, chair of the National Lighting Bureau. We look forward to identifying projects and initiatives that improve lighting quality, encourage sustainable practices, and strengthen the entire lighting industry.”
The collaboration will focus on encouraging subject -matter experts to participate in programs and activities; promote relevant conferences, workshops and meetings; look for ways to align guidelines and procedures for architectural lighting; share relevant documents and industry resources; and expand cooperation on public outreach and industry education.
