Wayfair highlights top-performing products with new Verified certification

BOSTON — Wayfair is highlighting its most trusted products under its new Wayfair Verified program.

The program, which officially launches today, provides customers with a roster of products that have passed a multistep evaluation process from Wayfair product specialists.

“We know that shopping for home products online can be overwhelming,” said Jon Blotner, president of commercial and operations at Wayfair. “With Wayfair Verified, we do the testing so they don’t have to — sitting on sofas, assembling furniture and evaluating every detail — so shoppers can feel confident, knowing we stand behind every selection.”

Wayfair Verified products undergo a five-point evaluation:

  • Packaging and assembly assessment: Upon arrival, packaging experts evaluate the product’s packaging, assembly experience, legal compliance and instruction clarity.
  • Comprehensive quality audit: Product specialists inspect each product against category and class-specific criteria to ensure quality and verify the accuracy of on-site details.
  • Qualitative quality review: Each item is hand tested for comfort, material feel, stability and overall satisfaction.
  • Value determination: Specialists assess the results of packaging, assembly and quality inspections against the price to determine if the product clears the high-value threshold for Verified status.
  • Verified treatment: Once an item becomes Verified, specialists create custom product videos and other content highlighting key features.

The evaluation and selection of Wayfair Verified products is conducted by an internal team of about 50 Wayfair product specialists who are experts in specific product categories. Products are continuously reviewed and re-reviewed to ensure they meet Verified standards with no set number of products specified for Verified status.

According to the Wayfair website, there are currently more than 5,000 Verified items, including about 200 sofas, more than 130 beds and headboards, 350 accent chairs, 300-plus end tables and coffee tables, more than 100 dining tables, nearly 50 mattresses as well as lamps, rugs, decorative accessories, textiles and tabletop items.

Items considered for Wayfair Verified have already received high ratings from customers, are sold by trusted suppliers and show low return and damage rates. Vendors don’t pay to be included in Wayfair Verified.

Blotner and Liza Lefkowski, vice president of curation, brands and stores, will be discussing Wayfair Verified during presentations at Shoptalk Spring 2025 this week in Las Vegas.
