Ahead of the curve: Urban Outfitters embraces movement for its spring collection
Ruffles, scallops and a touch of red are the key themes for the Urban Outfitters spring furniture and home décor collection.

PHILADELPHIA — Scalloped and ruffled shapes are the seasonal trends Urban Outfitters Home is putting forth for its spring furniture and décor collection.
The 35-plus piece spring introduction, according to the lifestyle retailer, blends neo-Art Deco influences with whimsical details such as scallops and ruffles to reimagine classic forms with a contemporary twist.
Emphasizing the scallop shape are pieces like the Lucie Squiggly Iron Mirror Vanity and Iron Storage Console in pastel shades of green and lilac, while ruffles are shown in upholstery, such as the Cleo Ruffle Skirt Rohini Daybed Cushion, as well as table linens and bedding.
Woven throughout the collection is the use of red, which is featured in the Roma Scalloped three-seater sofa, now available in red stripe.
The spring pieces address the growing need for small-space living, which is key for its target audience of young Gen Zers stepping into their first apartment to create a space that is uniquely their own, according to Urban Outfitters.
The UO Home spring collection is available at the company’s stores and online. Urban Outfitters operates more than 200 stores in the United States, Canada and Europe.
