HIGH POINT – Celebrity interior designer Brigette Romanek has partnered with Loloi to launch four new area rug collections that are all handmade in India at the High Point Market this week.

Romanek has worked with stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Demi Moore, Christian Bale and Molly Sims to decorate their homes.  The designer named each rug collection after the important women in her life.

“I always want to design spaces that encourage gathering with the people that you love – so I wanted to use these rugs to pay tribute to the friends and family in my life that I love gathering with,” she said.

  • Orly – A two-toned area rug with ribbed horizontal stripes and a heathered tonality inspired by subtle veining in natural stones, the Orly rug is bordered with a lighter tone for understated definition. $1,000-$5,000 depending on size.
  • Frida – With versatile earth tones and a chunky, hand-knotted texture resembling tiny pebbles, the Frida collection features a pleasantly nubby softness underfoot. $1,500-$7,000 depending on size.
  • Knox – Handwoven area rugs with a contemporary checkerboard pattern and a texture reminiscent of a luxurious knit sweater, Knox is made of a blend of wool and cotton that plays with scale and texture and is imbued with cozy luxury. $1,350-$6,500 depending on size.
  • Dana – Irresistible to walk upon, the Dana collection has a high-low texture that alternates between a subtly shaggy pile and a soft base. Horizontal broken stripes give the area rug a fresh and energized structure, while a finish of fringe along the edges accentuates its sense of movement. $1,200-6,000 depending on size.

All rugs are either hand-knotted, hand-woven, or hand-loomed and are GoodWeave Certified.

Romanek is known for saying, “Where your eye lands, I want it to look beautiful.” In the case of this collaboration, she added, “I want where your foot lands to be beautiful, luxurious, cozy and cocoon-like.”

The designer is also launching 19 new pillows this market that come in a variety of soft neutral colors as well as some blue pillows and others with tassels.
