Chelsea House delves deeper into lighting
The company is adding 140 new designs at High Point Market next month.

HIGH POINT – Chelsea House will make a major move into lighting at High Point Market next month.
Already known as a lighting resource, the company will add 140 totally new designs, along with a complete selection of longtime designer favorites, making the lighting program more than 500 total pieces.
“Lighting has been an important part of our business since we first opened our doors in 1974,” said Chelsea House President Pam Cain. “We’ve built a great reputation among designers, and, over the past year, some of our customers told us that the market really needs a company with the eye for design and heart for designers that have made us their go-to source for lighting.”
Lead lighting designer Jamie Merida, who is an interior designer and runs a retail store, Bountiful Home, in Easton, Md., keeps the company up to date with the high-end customer’s design preferences, Cain said.
Merida has created some of the company’s most successful products, Cain noted, and is a major force in this expansion. Of the 140 new products to be unveiled in April, 85 come from Merida’s studio.
“This isn’t just a lot of new products,” said Merida. “This is a spectacular set of new choices. Our customers told us there is an opening in the market, and we worked to fill it with products they just can’t resist. That was my goal every time I sat down to draw, and the results will be displayed in our showroom at 200 North Hamilton Street.”
