Hesperios is inspired by cultural totems and traditional paper lanterns.

Hesperios, a concept brand founded by designer Autumn Hrubý, has launched a lighting collection and opened a store in New York’s West Village neighborhood. Hesperios Lighting sprung from Hrubý’s return to school to study physics, which ultimately sparked her interest in lighting design. The collection is inspired by cultural totems and traditional paper lanterns and has been executed by industrial designer Reid Hoyt.

Introducing Daisy, a new sconce by Blue Green Works inspired by tattoo and elemental forms. Blue Green Works is a New York-based studio founded in 2020 by Peter B Staples. The sconce launched at Assembly Line for NYCxDesign over the weekend. It’s available in two finishes, high polished brass and high polished steel. It retails for $850 through AssemblyLine.co.

, a made-to-order design studio that focuses on design from the American West, has introduced the Timber pendant, a piece hand-hewn from a solid fir log that allows light to show through the natural cracking. There are three stains available — Smoke, Natural and Snow — and there are leather banding and other wrapped finishes available. Interior colors include gold, silver or copper gilded, or smoke, natural or snow. Each pendant weighs 18 pounds and comes with 15 feet of cord and suspension wire, which must be secured to a wood or metal truss.

Lighting professionals from across the United States and Canada have been selected to attend next month’s show as part of ‘s program. These individuals are nominated by their employers and industry partners to recognize their efforts even if they are not normally able to participate in the show. Honorees who are accepted into the Light Stars program receive complimentary airfare and two nights of hotel accommodations to enable them to experience the largest residential lighting show in North America. Lightovation takes place June 18-21.
