Four Hands launches custom upholstery program with faster lead times

Designers continually seek more customized products – and want them without delay. Four Hands has responded to this growing number of requests with the debut of a new made-to-order program, a curated selection of upholstered seating available with 8-10-week .

The assortment includes both best-selling and new upholstery, made in the U.S. and Mexico. The initial program is launching with three best-selling suites and three new suites, each available in 6-12 fabric options. While most of the items have 8-10-week lead times, select pieces have ready-to-ship availability.

Four Hands looked at its data, and “knew that many customers were willing to trade time for selection,” said Cindy Hammes, chief merchandising officer at Four Hands, told Designers Today. And while other companies offer fully customizable lines, “ours bridges the gap between selection and wait time.”

The company has always had manufacturing in the U.S. and Mexico and “this program allows us to invest more in our North American manufacturing and increase our partnerships with these factories … We are expanding our partnership with manufacturers we believe in and trust, as they’ve continued to prove their capacity and capability.”
