Permanent botanicals fail to flourish in 2025 | State of the industry Report
Sales growth of permanent botanicals stopped short of blooming this year, growing by a mere 0.8%, according to Home Accents Today’s recently published 2025 Universe Report. Sales in 2025 are an estimated $2.57 billion, compared to an estimated $2.55 billion last year, according to the state of the annual industry survey.

Sales grew modestly in a few channels of distribution — e-commerce notched 2.2% growth, while interior designers and lifestyle stores reported a roughly 1.3% increase in sales — and decreased in others, such as department stores (-2.0%), traditional furniture stores (-2.4%), craft and fabric stores (its largest channel of distribution, down 0.6%) and “other” (-4.2%).
The permanent botanicals category, which accounts for 3% of home accents business, fared much the same as other product categories in a challenging year. Total home accents sales across seven categories will rise to an estimated $86.1 billion this year, up 1.2% over 2024’s $85.06 billion mark, according to the 2025 Universe Report.
