How the West won over home
Western looks are back in fashion — and in home.
Western styles are back in fashion — look no further than Beyonce’s push for Cowboy Carter or Pharrell Williams’ western-themed show for Louis Vuitton for Paris Fashion Week in January. And then there’s the popularity of the streaming show Yellowstone.
The western look translates easily into everyday, wearable fashion with cowboy boots and hats, suede and denim. It has also worked its way into home.
HAT Trend Advisor Michelle Lamb of The Trend Curve made note of the look at the Atlanta Market in July with Elaine Smith’s modern interpretation of classic western motifs like lassos, horseshoes, cowboy-shirt yokes and braided fringe in a decorative pillow collection called Western Chic.
And West moved East and settled nicely into High Point Market last month. Leather, geometric Western prints, hides, horses and all things Western were roped into manufacturers’ latest designs. Scottie Collins of bedding supplier HiEnd Accents spoke about the trend during market, noting that both subtle elements of the theme, such as leather accents, as well as literal translations like cowboy prints, can be found on top-of-bed.
Here are some other Western-themed looks we found at market:
Bradington-Young’s Sutton chair swivels in a Southern Comfort pecan fabric.
Dovetail Furniture’s new Bautista chair is upholstered in brown hair-on-hide.
The Paseo Road brand of HiEnd Accents embraces full-on Western themes such as cowboy prints, suede fringes and southwestern influences in its top-of-bed.
V Rugs & Home’s Mariel pillows feature leather buckle details.
Surya‘s Apuila accent table lamp features a textured concrete body with a sculptural sueded shade that resembles a hat.
