HPMA sets design challenge event as second Market keynote

HIGH POINT — The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has set an interior design challenge as its second Keynote event for the upcoming High Point Market, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Presented by HPMA in partnership with Loloi, celebrity designers Jeremiah Brent, Amber Lewis and Jean Stoffer will serve as judges for an interactive, first-of-its-kind experience titled “Best in Design: Live at High Point Market.”

Before the fall Market, the judging panel will review submissions from designers across the country and pre-select four finalists, who will each receive $2,000. During the Sunday Keynote event, the finalists will present their interior design project in person on the High Point Theatre stage for a chance to win an additional $10,000 grand prize and be named the inaugural “Best in Design” winner.

Moderated by Business of Home podcast host Dennis Scully, the judges will have an open discussion evaluating each project based on design excellence, creative problem-solving, space transformation and storytelling. The event will conclude with the live announcement of the design competition’s winner.

“Market guests will not want to miss this exciting new format,” said Tammy Covington, HPMA president and CEO. “Bringing world-class talent and a live critique to the Keynote stage will deliver an educational and high-energy platform for celebrating exceptional interior design.”

Submissions for the design competition will be accepted Aug. 17 through Sept. 17. Additional details, including the submission link and event information about other Keynote Series events can be found online.

“Best in Design” is set for 3 p.m., Oct. 18, in the High Point Theatre, located adjacent to the Transportation Terminal, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. to all registered High Point Market guests.
