Products with Purpose l Nancy Fire

Happy to report that my time at the was a huge success talking with manufacturers about their approaches and during my interview with Allison Zisko, Editor-In-Chief at Home Accents Today we covered some of these approaches, like communicating your sustainable message properly, true transparency about your commitment and how many showrooms are eager to be a part of this on-growing community. 2 out of 3 of my choices this month were found at the HPMKT.

First up Accent Décor, located in the IHFC H309 Hamilton 3rd Floor Building where they were introducing the “Salvage Collection” comprised of recycled terracotta, hand painted in warm white and available as a bowl, a large pot and a pot with a matching saucer. During production, dried and broken fragments of natural terracotta, salvaged from broken pots, are crushed, and blended with smooth clay. This process creates a gritty surface texture, giving each piece a unique and tactile quality. Their showroom never disappoints as they are always working on new spaces, new scale and creative detailing.
Jeremy Kamiya is a force to be reckoned with as his talent as a woodworker and designer are top notch, no pun intended….I have been a fan for years and I was so happy to see him and his adorable family at the Show located on the 3rd floor of High Point’s Historic Market Square. Like every piece, this beloved chair reinforces the aesthetic and emotional quality of interior spaces while expressing the union between the designed environment and the natural world. From the polished brass pins accenting mortise and tenon joinery, to the signature brass wedge nestled within the workmanship of a haunched, friction-fit, tusk-tenon — this award-winning piece communicates a state of bespoke luxury. Shown in hand-selected, superior grade, American Black Walnut.
101 Grand Street, Brooklyn, NY 11249 @sabai.design You shouldn’t have to choose between luxury and sustainability. Crafted from the mature nopal cactus leaves, this innovative material requires no irrigation to grow, emits significantly fewer carbon emissions than animal leather, and contains no toxic chemicals. Certified by PETA, USDA ORGANIC and REACH COMPLIANCE.
