This week we revealed Nike's first neuroscience-based footwear

This week on Dezeen, we showcased Nike's Mind trainers, which were "designed from the brain down" to improve athletes' concentration and focus.
Described by Nike as the company's "first neuroscience-based footwear", the shoes have distinctive soles with 22 bright-orange foam nodes, which move when the wearer walks or runs to send stimulation to the brain.
"These are the first shoes designed from the brain down, not the ground up," Nike chief science officer Matthew Nurse told Dezeen.

In architecture news, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona officially became the world's tallest church as the latest section of the tower of Jesus Christ was put in place.
Footage shot at the church shows the lower portion of a cross being lifted into place on the central tower of Antoni Gaudí's famous basilica, which has been under construction since 1882.

In the UK, British architect Piers Taylor launched a book that advocates for "deeper and messier" architecture.
He picked 10 projects from his book Learning from the Local that embody this idea for Dezeen, including the Reggio School by Andrés Jaque and the Office for Political Innovation (pictured above).

This week, we also looked at the standout pieces of furniture and lighting from the past month.
The pieces spotted by Dezeen's design and interiors reporter Jane Englefield included marbled stools made from old car plastic and a sculptural lamp woven with silk.

Popular projects on Dezeen this week included a circular house in Mexico by Fernanda Canales Architecture, the Tip of Nordø office in Copenhagen and a skatepark by Nike and Palace Skateboards.
Our latest lookbook featured shadowy bedrooms, while our latest roundup showcased isolated modernist-style homes that belong in thrillers.
