Promotion: South Korean brand SYS has entered the US market with its collection of "precision-engineered" performancewear for men and women.

SYS, which says it is the first Korean performancewear brand to launch in the United States, aims to bring the aspirational power of K-culture – the global interest in music and styles from South Korea – to the fitness sector.

Its clothes are designed in SYS's Innovation Lab in South Korea, where it creates what the brand defines as "a new uniform for evolution".

SYS's designers and engineers work together to create proprietary fabric blends, each of which is tested across a full spectrum of movement, according to the brand.

"SYS merges advanced textile engineering with a refined, design-led aesthetic: technically advanced, visually considered, and made to move with intention," the brand said.

It has created three different engineered materials, each with its own special properties: ButterFlow, ButterMelt and ButterEase.

ButterFlow pieces were created to combine breathable comfort with dynamic stretch, while the ButterMelt fabric focuses on weightless softness and recovery.

SYS's material, ButterEase, is more casual and aims to provide "effortless versatility" for everyday use.

The minimalist designs come in neutral, soft hues, including blue shadow, twill khaki, fog brown and foam beige, and have simple, clean silhouettes.

SYS makes performancewear for both men and women, with pieces including flared leggings, sports bras and soft ribbed performance jackets for women and wrinkle-free button-downs, soft hoodies and joggers for men.

The brand's South Korean roots come through in its approach to quality, it said, with a focus on "rigorously tested garments built with proprietary fabrics and cutting-edge textiles."

Its clothes are designed to function as a second skin that adapts to the wearer's shape and movements, and aim to combine the functional aspects of performancewear with stylish, minimalist designs.
