Tamara Day, the host of HGTV’s , as well as the CEO and founder of Growing Days Home and Growing Days Design, values the partnerships she has with both and since they have taken her vision and run with it.

“I love working with both Spectra and Lavin,” she said. “They have been really fabulous partners for me to get my design ideas into the world. The furniture at Spectra is super comfy and lush, and they have amazing fabrics, and of course, as a mom of four, performance matters and both my rugs and my have performance abilities.”

During a conversation with Home Accents Today managing editor Anne Flynn Wear, Day said she designs outdoor rugs that look like indoor rugs and can be cleaned easily, while furniture at Spectra has amazing fabrics.

The designer said she really likes luxury and loves luxe looks, but realizes that’s not practical with kids and pets.

“I don’t have pets, but with four kids, three boys, and my furniture has been through it. But it stands up to the test of time since I use quality fabrics and a quality build for my furniture. So, while the boys were little, I wasn’t afraid of buying a nice investment piece since I knew it would hold up. And it has.”

Day gets product design ideas from a variety of sources, including the markets, friends and travel.

“I feel like High Point brings everyone together. It’s such a beautiful way of creating a sense of community that I get such inspiration from all of my designer friends,” Day added. “And over the years I’ve seen their aesthetics growing and changing and I watch them on all the social platforms like Instagram and I’m constantly scrolling what this friend or that friend has done recently.”

When it comes to color, Day is a huge fan.

“I did a white kitchen in my house 17 years ago. Then, I got tired of the white kitchen 10 years ago and I changed it to black and now my kitchen is light blue. I love the Brittany Blue from Benjamin Moore. It’s gorgeous.”

Day said she sees a lot more color coming into design in a more mainstream way than she has seen in a long time.

“And beige oh my gosh, mixing the grays, and the beiges and the blacks and the browns,” she said. “It’s a huge trend. It’s so inspiring and fun to be in a place that feels interesting.”
