Best Buy launches expansive digital marketplace

MINNEAPOLIS — Starting this week, Best Buy customers can find a whole lot more when shopping on BestBuy.com and through the Best Buy App. The company on Aug. 19 launched its digital marketplace, more than doubling the number of products available and tripling the amount of furniture offered.

In addition to electronic sleep solutions, Best Buy also offers sheet sets, mattress pads and protectors, pillows, and mattresses.

Best Buy Marketplace, powered by Mirakl, marks the largest expansion ever of Best Buy’s product assortment, and it also will soon introduce licensed sports merchandise to its product lineup.

“Our customers have always looked to us to bring excitement and inspiration in ways only technology can,” said Frank Bedo, chief marketplace and e-commerce officer at Best Buy. “With marketplace, we’re able to give them not only more of the latest technology, but a massive new collection of products outside of the tech space so we can truly offer the full experience they need.”

Launch highlights:

Indoor, outdoor and office spaces – Best Buy’s furniture assortment is now three times larger with TV stands and office desks, gaming chairs and sofas, coffee tables and barstools, gazebos and pergolas, patio furniture and more.
More tech options – Best Buy has expanded its lineup with names such as Samsung, Microsoft, LG, Lenovo and HP. Its assortment across categories also has more gaming brands, as well as a wider selection of products and mobile accessories.
Fanatics fan shop – For the first time, the retailer will add licensed sports merchandise to its product lineup with the introduction of officially licensed sports products from Fanatics.
Small appliances – Best Buy is adding a wider selection of small appliance and kitchen must-haves, as well as more floor care products from top brands.
Seasonal, musical instruments and more fun – Customers can explore a robust collection of indoor and outdoor seasonal decor to celebrate the holidays, musical instruments and a broader range of toys. Plus, movies are coming back to Best Buy’s assortment in a variety of formats.
