Beyond cuts loose senior exec as it shuffles leadership
Dave Nielsen, most recently president and principal executive officer of Beyond Inc., has exited the company as it reworks its executive structure.

MURRAY, UTAH – Dave Nielsen, most recently president and principal executive officer (PEO) of Beyond Inc., has exited the company as it reworks its executive structure.
The board of directors has appointed executive chairman Marcus Lemonis to serve as Beyond Inc.’s PEO, replacing Nielsen.
As part of the leadership transition:
- Adrianne Lee, previously CFO and chief administrative officer, becomes president and CFO.
- Leah Putnam, former VP of finance & controller, has been appointed chief accounting officer.
- Alexander Thomas, former SVP of finance and corporate development, will now serve as chief operating officer.
Nielsen joined the company in 2009 when it was operating as Overstock.com and spent six years there. He returned in 2018 to lead sourcing, was promoted to president of retail operations in 2019, CEO of Overstock in 2024 and the president of Beyond Inc. a few months thereafter.
According to Lemonis, the executive overhaul aligns with the company’s goals.
“The last year has been about identifying Beyond’s strategic priorities of delivering significant improvement in the key metrics of Adjusted EBITDA, gross margin and reduced fixed costs as well as unlocking the value of our blockchain investments. We are committed to making money and returning this business to growth and will not let any obstacles deter that goal,” he said. “This leadership team is best suited to carry out our mandate of delivering profitable commerce.”
Lee, who has served as CFO for the past five years, will work closely with Lemonis to accelerate the business on its path to profitability.
“Adrianne embodies the style of leadership this company will excel with,” he said. “A demanding expectation for performance, capital allocation and an ever-changing customer experience.”
