Celebrity chef helps kick off tabletop show in New York
At a cocktail event last night, Patti Carpenter interviewed the chef about what inspires him.
NEW YORK —The tabletop industry celebrated opening day of the New York Tabletop Show here last night with a festive cocktail party hosted by the Tabletop Association and a visit from renowned New York chef Marcus Samuelsson.
Samuelsson spoke with trend expert Patti Carpenter of Carpenter + Co. about what inspires his work — music, for one, as well as the city itself. “The whole point of being in New York City is to be inspired,” he said.
A handful of lucky people in the crowd won a signed copy one of Samuelsson’s cookbooks, and an even luckier group won a gift card to a Samuelsson restaurant.
The New York Tabletop Show runs through Friday.
