Currey crowns a new lighting design
At last month’s High Point Market, Currey & Company unveiled its Coronet Lanterns, a new group of lighting designs it said was designed to appeal to retailers and young homeowners looking for attractively priced lighting.
The ensemble consists of chandeliers, pendants, lanterns, wall sconces and lamps in a gold or champagne finish.
The lantern’s crown shape recalls a powerful symbol of rulership, divine authority and royalty throughout history.
The Coronet Gold Lantern is fashioned from flat bands of metal that sweep out at the top to form a shape similar to a looping crown. These bend upward to fold around the bottom of the chain, which makes the Coronet easily adjustable. The antique gold leaf finish makes this a luminous fixture; it’s also available in a silvery champagne finish.
The lanterns retail for $1,240 and were well received at market, according to a company spokesperson.
