Robin Reigi named IIDA NY chapter president

NEW YORK – The New York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association has named chapter president for the 2026–2027 term. She will be officially appointed during the chapter’s annual member meeting in Manhattan on July 21.

Reigi, principal at Robin Reigi Inc., a New York-based materials consultancy, succeeds Elisabeth Mejia, who led the group during the prior term, and will be joined by the president-elect for the 2027-28 term, Rachel Robinson. Robinson is the creative director and design principal at Ted Moudis Associates.

Reigi has more than two decades of experience in the architecture and design industry and is an adjunct professor of sustainable materials at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).  She also served on the board for several years, most prominently as co-vice president of student development alongside Mejia.

Reigi’s presidency will be guided by the theme “All In,” reflecting her commitment to an engaged, hands-on approach to leadership and meaningful inclusion, “a chapter in which every member, sponsor, design firm advocate, and committee volunteer is not only represented but fully active in the life of the organization,” the nearly 700-member group said in a release.

“Being the first industry-side person to lead this chapter is something I hold with great responsibility and genuine excitement,” said Reigi. “I’ve spent my career serving the design community, advocating for the materials and solutions that make great spaces possible. Now I have the opportunity to advocate for the community itself. ‘All In’ is a promise to every member, sponsor, student, and partner that you belong here, and that this chapter is better because of you.”

The New York Chapter under Riegi is launching an initiative called , a conversation series hosted by emerging designers that pairs chapter sponsors with design advocacy firms around a common theme. A relevant IIDA NY committee representative will be included at each event.

Several Loupe events are already scheduled, with confirmed stops at New York City-based firms including Corgan, Mancini Duffy, Perkins & Will, Ted Moudis Associates, The Swiitzer Group and TPG Architecture.
