Designers Samuel Ross and Henry Holland have joined the judging panel for Dezeen Awards 2025, alongside architect Carol Ross Barney and interior designer Tatjana von Stein.
Dezeen Awards in partnership with Bentley champions the best architects and designers from around the world, recognising the individuals and studios producing the most outstanding work across architecture, interior and design.
Read on to find out more about the leading industry professionals who will join this year's judging panel:
British designer Ross, who is the artistic director of the London Design Biennale for 2025, will judge this year's design entries.
He is the founder of fashion brand Sr_a Sr_a and A Cold Wall, a luxury sportswear brand that has established retail stores across the globe, produced numerous runway collections, and worked with companies such as Louis Vuitton.
In 2023, Ross moved his focus into fine art. He is also a product designer, with recent projects including a furniture collection for NYCxDesign and a bright orange sculptural toilet for bathroom brand Kohler.
The designer has received several accolades including three British Fashion Awards, two GQ Awards and the Hulbort Design Award, and exhibited permanent collections at the MoMA in New York and V&A in London.
French-German designer Von Stein, who recently restored an art deco-style apartment in London's Mayfair, will sit on the interiors judging panel this year.
Von Stein is the creative director and founder of the self-named studio Tatjana von Stein, a multi-disciplinary practice that has worked on international projects ranging from a restored-townhouse members' club in Palma, a hotel that draws upon Swiss Riviera aesthetics in Zurich and a communal 3,000-square-foot office space in New York.
In 2023, she also launched her first furniture collection, Mise en Scene, in collaboration with French artisans.
London-based designer Holland will join Ross on the design panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.
Formerly creative director of his fashion brand House of Holland, the designer now runs lifestyle brand Henry Holland Studio. It specialises in ceramics inspired by the Japanese nerikomi technique – a meditative process of stacking, folding, and rolling coloured clay into slabs to create unique forms.
The designer has collaborated with several companies including rug manufacturer Floor Story, members' club Soho House, ethical coffee retailer Grind and fashion label Paul Smith on bespoke textiles, glassware, lighting and furniture pieces.
Architect Barney, who is the founder of Ross Barney Architects, will join Nigerian architect Olajumoke Adenowo on the architecture judging panel.
The Chicago-based practice specialises in public realm projects that focus on improving people's daily lives and well-being. Notable projects include the rejuvenating Chicago Riverwalk and NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, as well as a rail station wrapped in perforated tubes in Chicago and a colourful public park in Arkansas.
Recognised for her contributions to architecture, Barney has received over 200 design awards, most notably the AIA Gold Medal in 2023 and the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award.
