The Handloomed Legacy rugs are available in natural, beige, ochre and khaki.

Global brand Lorena Canals has more than 25 years of experience designing and crafting rugs and textile accessories. The company sells rugs in more than 80 countries, including the US, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the UK.

The company said its products blend contemporary design with artisanal finishes and each piece features an interactive touch designed to inspire moments of connection.

In the company’s latest chapter, they have developed a complete handloom experience, where the packaging is always a handloom woven canvas, signed by several crosses handcrafting the letter L. This signature L represents the essence of craftsmanship in the collection, highlighting the dedication and artistry behind each piece.

Also, for the first time, Lorena Canals’ rugs will be shipped rolled instead of folded to ensure better preservation, according to the company.

The new Handloomed Legacy rugs are cotton rugs handcrafted by two skilled artisans using a traditional handloom. The weaving technique can take days to complete, depending on the size of the rug, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship in every piece. Each rug of this collection is signed by several crosses handcrafting the letter L, adding a distinctive artisanal touch. The rugs are available in natural, beige, ochre and khaki.

Each piece is carefully handwoven by artisans.

The Handloom Legacy rugs embrace traditional weaving with the meticulous handloom technique, where every piece is handcrafted thread by thread, entirely by hand and without the use of electricity.

Each piece is carefully handwoven by artisans which ensures complete control over the handcrafted process, with custom patterns and unique textures that machines simply cannot replicate.  This technique creates a distinct texture with natural variations, enhancing both depth and durability while preserving the inherent beauty of the materials.

For its newest rugs, the Meredith Heron Collection has found fresh inspiration in oceanic themes, blending seaside patterns with subtle nods to Japan’s deep cultural ties to water.

From coastal fishing traditions to the contemplative qualities of Zen water gardens, these influences merge to capture both the sea’s natural movement and its meditative qualities, featuring colors that range from deep navy blues to soft seafoam greens.

Founded by designer Meredith Heron, the collection embodies a modern maximalist approach to textile art.

The Sandtracks Rug

Sandtracks

Inspired by ridges in the sand, washed over by the waves, the Sandtracks rug is offered in both wool and silk ground, with a raised design in opposing material. The silk ground gives this rug a natural ombre, while the wool ground gives the raised areas definition.

The Koi Rug

Koi

From afar, the Koi rug pattern appears like stripes, but upon closer review, several Koi fish are hidden in the stripes. The inspiration for this pattern came from Heron’s trip to Japan and Japanese watercolor paintings made by dragging the paint across a page. This rug is available in one stocked colorway and four custom colorways. It is hand-knotted on looms in India and is suitable for medium and high-traffic areas. The majority of this rug is pure wool, with small accents of Viscose to make the stripes and Koi fish shimmer.

The Naoshima Rug

Naoshima

The Naoshima rug is the most popular rug in the new collection. Its sweeping pattern draws the eye around the room, making the room feel bigger. The production team used new technology to create a very natural ombré effect in the ground of this rug, which is named after an island town in the Seto Inland Sea. Naoshima is available in one stocked colorway and four custom colorways, is hand-knotted on looms in India, and is suitable for medium and high-traffic areas.
