Williams out as HFA CEO

CARMICHAEL, Calif. — Home Furnishings Assn. Shannon Williams is no longer with the industry organization.

In a June 3 letter obtained by sister publication Today, board President , who is also chairman of retailer Johnny Janosik, made the announcement to membership. He indicated that the change had been announced to all HFA staff and that the board is in the process of communicating to its outside partners. He said the board appreciates Williams’ contributions and wishes her the very best in her future endeavors.

“We are in the process of identifying a new CEO for the NAHFA team to continue our mission to serve you, our members,” Koehler wrote. “Thank you for your membership and support of this great organization. Our goal is to use this time of transition to become an even greater asset to the community.”

Williams succeeded Mark Schumacher as CEO on June 1, 2024. She joined the HFA in 2018 as director of the membership team and later took on roles in partnerships and . During this time, she rose to vice president of strategy before she was named chief operating officer in 2020.

Before joining the HFA, Williams had a decade of experience in sales, sales management and training while working in home mortgage and home furnishings for companies including Sleep Train and Mattress Firm.
