Corbett unveils jewelry-inspired collection from designer Noz Nozawa
Her new 16-piece collection for Corbett includes sconces, chandeliers and pendants.
HIGH POINT – What started out as a passion project for San Francisco-based interior designer Noz Nozawa has developed into a new lighting line from Corbett Lighting.
Nozawa founded Noz Design in 2014 and has earned a reputation for creating one-of-a-kind, immersive residential and commercial spaces focusing on narrative and a collected-over-time aesthetic.
She is also interested in jewelry design, and her new 16-piece collection for Corbett, which includes sconces, chandeliers and pendants, reflects that interest.
The bold and glamourous Bezel collection was inspired by “superflush” jewelry settings, where a stone is set into densely cast metalwork. The classic silhouette of Riviere, which is featured on our cover, was inspired by Nozawa’s stackable rings. Zeme is reminiscent of a chunky individual chain-link or beautiful modern earring, while the Tragus pendant resembles a gem suspended on a necklace and Lariat looks like a draped gold chain. The Daith sconce takes its inspiration from the “sugarloaf” gemstone cut; its elongated shades feature a softened pyramid structure.
“Lighting – especially layered lighting – is the thing that makes a room feel complete and is an incredibly powerful component of the experiential design of a room, from the placement of architectural lighting to the decorative lighting that adds so much dimension to a space,” said Noz.
Prices in the collection start at $649.
