Kathy Adams Furniture & Interiors: Creating and inspiring timeless rooms | Retail Star
The store is a specialty furniture and accent boutique which means that everything that comes to the floor is carefully curated.
Kathy Adams started her interior design business in Plano, Texas, more than 30 years ago with the desire to produce inspiring and timeless rooms.
“I opened a design shop and a small store, about 1,300-square-feet,” Adams said. “Then four years later we expanded to offer 8,000-square-feet and then in 2020, we expanded to 23,000-square-feet.”
After graduating from college, Adams’ daughters Kelly and Kristy decided to get involved in the family business.
“My youngest Kristy is heavily involved in the operations division and does the buying. She creates fabulous visuals,” Adams said. “Kelly is a full-time designer and is also very actively involved in buying and visual display.”
The store is a specialty furniture and accent boutique, according to Adams, who said that everything that comes to the floor is carefully curated, and they carry mainly high-end designersBeing an active part of the local community is one of the store’s core values, so they are involved in Habitat for Humanity as well as supplying furniture and décor for several homeless shelters in two nearby counties. “We really try to give back since it’s our customers who have built this business,” she added.
The store officially opened in June 1989, so Adams said they are planning to celebrate the 35th anniversary this June with a community event.
