Online auction marketplace operator buys Chairish

LONDON — Chairish Inc., the San Francisco-based online home furnishings marketplace, has been acquired by Auction Technology Group, which operates a portfolio of design- and collectibles-oriented auction marketplaces.
Purchased for $85 million, Chairish Inc. is the parent of Chairish.com and Pamono.com, a European marketplace acquired by Chairish in 2021. Chairish was founded in 2013 as an online source for designers and consumers to find home furnishings, art and jewelry. It has promoted sustainability and circularity through the buying and selling of vintage and antique pieces.
The acquisition strengthens AGT’s leadership in the global arts and antiques market by adding two online destinations that connect more than 12,000 sellers with the buying community and providing more than 1.3 million curated listings and 4.6 million monthly visits.

“Joining forces with ATG marks an exciting new chapter,” said Gregg Brockway, CEO of Chairish, who co-founded the company with his wife, Anna. “This partnership is about amplifying what makes Chairish special … while opening up entirely new ways for our community to connect, shop and sell. Our sellers can gain access to new channels and our buyers will discover more extraordinary finds from around the world.”
“This is a milestone step in our mission to transform how people connect with unique finds,” said John-Paul Savant, CEO of ATG. “Chairish complements our marketplace portfolio with beautifully curated inventory, deep seller relationships and a loyal, design-savvy audience.”
The combined group will offer an expanded, multi-brand platform that serves a broader range of buyer preferences and seller needs across different categories, prices and regions. ATG operates several platforms, including LiveAuctioneers.com, The Salesroom, Lot-tissimo, EstatesSales.net and more.
