Rug Report: A look at fall trends plus some HP Market rug company updates

HIGH POINT – This week’s rug report looks at the fall rug trends according to Rug’Society, a luxury brand based in Portugal; Capel Rugs is moving to a new showroom, Universal is hosting a rug-related event during market and the Rug Company has a new CEO.

Rug’Society’s fall rug trends include a preference for warm and earthy color palettes, geometric patterns and the continued emphasis on statement rugs.

Deep browns, burnt oranges, moss greens, and warm taupes are among the many earthy tones expected to be prominent. These hues offer a feeling of coziness and comfort that makes it feel tranquil and welcoming.

Geometric patterns continue to be a strong trend. Rugs featuring geometric designs in muted or bold colors can add a modern yet timeless appeal to any room, according to the Rug’Society.

And finally, bold, statement rugs are a key trend. Rugs with intricate patterns, vibrant colors, or unique designs can serve as the focal point of a room.

Capel Rugs is moving to a new showroom in the 200 North Hamilton South Court building. The newly renovated and much larger space will be the site of 10 new collection launches at the upcoming High Point Market. The showroom’s grand opening will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 to 6 pm.

One of the new collections, called Aquarelles, is a new hand-knotted area rug collection, inspired by French impressionist watercolors. Crafted with luxurious silk yarns, these rugs showcase smooth color transitions and a fluid, captivating feel.
