Tarkett launches terrazzo-like iQ Motion vinyl flooring collection

Promotion: the "enduring appeal" of terrazzo was the reference point for iQ Motion, the latest homogeneous vinyl flooring collection of French brand Tarkett.
The speckled iQ Motion collection was launched as an evolution of flooring manufacturer Tarkett's existing iQ range, which it claims is "the world's highest-performing homogeneous vinyl flooring".
Homogeneous vinyl is a type of flooring made of a single layer of vinyl, which, in the case of iQ Motion, is durable even in heavy-traffic environments.

"Tarkett, a global leader in sustainable flooring and circular innovation, has expanded its elite iQ portfolio with the launch of iQ Motion, the newest addition to the world's highest-performing homogeneous vinyl flooring range," said the brand.
"Engineered for environments where durability, hygiene and long-term performance are essential, iQ Motion continues the legacy of the iQ range," it continued.
"The collection is a single-layer, homogeneous vinyl flooring designed to meet the demanding needs of healthcare, education and other heavy-traffic settings."

The iQ Motion collection comprises a palette of 16 natural tones, ranging from the moody Motion Petrol blue hue to the dusky pink Motion Soft Brick colour.
Each one has a speckled, mosaic finish, designed to emulate terrazzo. They are also designed to complement the brand's wider iQ range.

"iQ Motion introduces a refined palette of 16 natural tones, drawing inspiration from the enduring appeal of terrazzo," said Tarkett.
"The colours have been crafted to work seamlessly with other iQ collections, enabling architects and designers to create cohesive, expressive spaces with ease," added the brand.

According to Tarkett, the iQ Motion range is engineered to have "unmatched durability".
It claims it is the only homogeneous vinyl flooring range that "can be restored while in use" and that it is scratch and stain-resistant.

Similar to the rest of the iQ flooring range, iQ Motion is also 100 per cent recyclable and can be returned to Tarkett at the end of its life, with the brand stating it is "built for circularity".
"Tarkett's commitment to circular design means the iQ range has the lowest circular carbon footprint in the homogeneous vinyl category – at least 2.5 times lower than the total carbon footprint of other homogeneous vinyl manufacturers," said the brand.

The iQ Motion flooring is made with a 20-year warranty, reflecting the brand's confidence in the product's performance.
"iQ Motion joins an outstanding homogeneous vinyl flooring range which we're proud to say is the world's highest-performing when it comes to both technical performance and circularity," said Tarkett vice president of the commercial business unit Thomas Leneveu.
"We've honed the iQ range over many years, continuously seeking ways to increase its durability while reducing its environmental impact," added Leneveu.
"iQ Motion is our latest addition, embodying everything our customers have come to expect from this cutting-edge flooring, with a radiant new design expression."

Tarkett is a flooring brand with a history of more than 140 years.
The launch of its iQ Motion collection follows the news that Tarkett has made its linoleum ranges carbon-negative across all stages of its life cycle.
