HIGH POINT – Universal Furniture will launch the Dwell collection and expand its Modern collection at this week’s High Point Market, as well as expanding its ready-to-ship upholstery program.
The Dwell collection, blending architectural inspiration with a casual and natural aesthetic, features a variety of case goods, dining furniture and accent pieces crafted from materials including pine, cast aluminum and fiberglass-reinforced concrete.
“The finish palette for the Dwell collection was carefully selected to reflect the natural world while providing versatility,” said Kayla Miller, director of marketing for Universal Furniture. “Each color complements the collections’ materials, from the warmth of the wood to the bold accents of cast aluminum and concrete, allowing the pieces to feel both timeless and modern.”
One of the collection’s featured design elements is closed latticework, seen in the Dwell panel bed, Dwell credenza and a nightstand. Other pieces include a 10-drawer dresser, utility cabinet, dining table, wood back side chair, flexible cocktail and ottoman pairings, and accent pieces.
The Modern collection will feature an additional 60 new pieces this fall, blending clean hard lines with soft organic forms.
“The Modern collection from Universal is not just about aesthetics, but also livability and flexibility,” said Miller. “We wanted to design a line that serves as a base for different interpretations, whether you’re leaning toward a conservative or glamorous look or something in between. It’s about making Modernism work for everyday life.”
The additions to the Modern collection focus on wood-centric designs in sand-blasted oak veneers and oak solids that expose the grain, along with two key finishes: a medium brown Modern Sable and a sandy light brown Modern Desert.
Additions to the collection include: the Shelter bed, round dining table, wood arm chair, upholstered dining chair, Dune bachelor chest and Dune credenza. Occasional piece additions include the Pyrite cocktail table, Origami chest and Stone credenza.
The Ready-to-Ship upholstery program is set up to provide customers with upholstered furniture in a matter of days. The program includes 40 upholstery frames including swivel chairs and sofas, produced both in Conover, N.C., and in the company’s Vietnam facility. Stocked in the High Point warehouse, the collection is available for the 2024 holiday season.
Both collections can be seen at Universal Furniture’s showroom, located at 101 S. Hamilton.
