Welcome to our weekly roundup of employee comings and goings and other people-related news across the home furnishings industry. Here’s the latest:

Mark Onanian, formerly the vice president of sales at UMA, is now president of the home division of Rugs America, where he will spearhead the company’s expansion into the furniture store sector.

Danielle Elderkin is the new marketing director at nora fleming. Elderkin was previously an independent public relations specialist.

In the outdoor furniture category, sister pub Furniture Today reports that Steve Mangano, an outdoor furniture buyer for Fortunoff in the 1980s who later transitioned into a sales rep in the patio, hearth and barbecue industry, has joined the residential sales team at Homecrest Outdoor Living.

Furniture Today also sat down with Rick Lovegrove, a former Four Hands executive who was recently named vice president of upholstery at Universal. Lovegrove believes that Universal has the opportunity to lead as an American manufacturer in a world market on many fronts — customization, quality, fashion, comfort and speed. “We have to win through design,” he said.
