At Home removes 2 stores from closing list

WILMINGTON, DEL. — A document filed in the U.S. Court for the District of Delaware on July 15 indicates that Top 50 retailer At Home is removing two stores from its store closings list.

After the Coppell, Texas-based home décor specialist filed for protection last month, it outlined plans to close 26 of its 260 stores during the bankruptcy proceedings. In the interim order detailing closing procedures, it had the right to discontinue sales at any closing stores and revert to normal operations without further authorization from the court, provided that it shall file a notice with the court of any such change to the list of closing stores.

With the July 15 document filed, the two stores returning to normal business are located in Princeton, N.J., and Wauwatosa, Wis.

At Home filed for bankruptcy on June 16 and listed $1,000,000,001 to $10 billion in estimated assets versus $1,000,000,001 to $10 billion in estimated liabilities to an estimated 10,001 to 25,000 creditors. In the filing, it cited a challenging commercial environment brought on by broader economic and retail-specific pressures and noted that interest rates, persistent inflations and concerns over unsustainable customs costs resulting from increased tariffs all placed significant pressure on its revenue and cost structure.
