Headed to High Point? Here’s where you can find Home Accents Today
It’s that time of year that trade editors love most — the chance to see and interact with industry members in person at market. In High Point this week, you will find us moderating panels, conducting on-camera interviews, awarding HAT tags to the products we find outstanding and inspiring, and reporting, through stories and pictures, on what’s happening in the home furnishings industry. Please be sure to follow us online, in our newsletter and on social media during market.
It will be a week packed with insight, inspiration and fun. Here’s what we are up to:
Friday, Oct. 24
2- 3 p.m., Suites at Market Square: Nostalgia Now: Why Memory, Emotion & Story are Re-Shaping Interior Design
In a panel discussion moderated by Editor-in-Chief Allison Zisko, trend forecaster Jaye Anna Mize, VP of Creative at Future Snoops, and Julia Reinert, The Lifestyle Historian, will discuss how “modern heritage,” cultural memory, and biographical objects shape interiors that feel grounded, personal and restorative. Linda Kafka, a leading expert in neurodesign and founder of the NeuroDesign Academy, will also explore why our brains and bodies respond to age, patina, materiality and sensory detail, explaining how certain textures, shapes, patterns, and forms evoke comfort, memory and emotional resonance.
Sunday, Oct. 26
10-11 a.m. IHFC C402: Let’s Talk Laid-Back Luxe
From licensing collaborations to her retail store and TV audience, designer Tamara Day discusses the philosophy that ties all her work together in an ART Talk with Allison Zisko. All are invited to attend. A book-signing of Day’s latest book will follow.
