After 12 years in the same location, retailer Rusted Chandelier, a home décor store that sells accents, gifts, candles and floral arrangements, is moving to a bigger space.
“Our location now is 3,000-square-feet and the new location will be 3,600-square-feet, and the additional space will be helpful,” said Patti Porter, founder of Rusted Chandelier in Kirkwood, Mo., outside of St. Louis. “We are also moving our warehouse to the new location, which will be more convenient.”
One of the signature aspects of the store is the large amount of color everywhere, Porter said.
“I have a twig chandelier that is bright pink. I love pink! And we also have a lot of blues and greens and other bright colors.”
Accessories like pillows and lamp shares are easy to change, Porter tells her clients. “If you get tired of the pink, you can always go to navy or black.”
Custom florals are also a huge part of the business, according to Porter, who said they mainly use orchids and hydrangeas.
Porter said they currently have a total of seven employees and the new location will allow them to staff more efficiently. Her two children also help in the store when time allows, and her husband runs the warehouse.
“I’ve found that I get a lot of new clients through Instagram and Facebook, which my kids helped to set up,” Porter said.
