An international jury of interior designers selected the five winners from more than 530 submissions across 38 countries.

Shaw Contract said they "represent the highest calibre of work in the global design industry", with this year's key trends including the use of natural materials and bold patterns, and a focus on equitable design and contextual referencing.

Among the winners was Mastercard's 2,500-square-metre workplace in Budapest, designed by M Moser Associates to bring together three of the credit card company's teams under one roof.

Its layout pays homage to Csárdás – a traditional Hungarian folk dance known for its shifting tempo – through curved pathways, while its material palette draws on traditional Hungarian costumes.
